Shofar Watchmen Statement of Faith

We believe:

• the Bible, comprised of 66 books, to be the inspired and only infallible, authoritative Word of God. Therefore, our ministry emphasizes the teaching of God’s Word from Genesis to Revelation.

• the creation account, inspired by the Holy Spirit, is a literal 6 day creation, starting on day 1, which took place approximately 6000 years ago (based on genealogical records also in scripture).

• that all things ever created, were created by God, during the literal six days of the Genesis account (and were all good in His eyes).

• that sin entered the world through Adam (who was a literal person), and thereby so also did death enter the world.

• that there is one God, eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

• in the deity of Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of God, and in His personal return in power and glory.

• that for the salvation of lost and sinful humanity, (which is the eternal security of each believer established and held by the power of God), regeneration by the Holy Spirit is essential, and that repentance from sin and acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior is the only way to come into this relationship with God.

• in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling, the Christian is enabled to live a Godly life; we further believe His power and gifts are available to believers today (to be manifested in accordance with scripture).

• that fallen angels (here to for referred to as demons) are willing and able to replicate many manifestations of the gifts of the Spirit, and that each believer must always check any Spirit first before subscribing to it’s leading to test that it is the Spirit of God (and not a demon seeking to mislead the body).

• in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: they that are saved unto the resurrection of life, and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

• it is important to uphold the scriptural practices of the early church. Therefore, we hold to the practice of water baptism, the regular taking of Communion, the priesthood of every believer, and the mandate of the Great Commission upon every believer. We do not believe that any of these practices are essential for salvation, but that they serve as a demonstration of our living faith in Christ and are evidence of the Spirit’s work within the believer.
