In addition to simply learning the Word and living it (the best evangelical tool at the believer’s reach),
here are some commonly used resources to help have an answer ready for your faith.
Mere Christianity – C.S. Lewis
In the classic Mere Christianity, C.S. Lewis, the most important writer of the 20th century, explores the common ground upon which all of those of Christian faith stand together. Bringing together Lewis’ legendary broadcast talks during World War Two from his three previous books The Case for Christianity, Christian Behavior, and Beyond Personality, Mere Christianity provides an unequaled opportunity for believers and nonbelievers alike to hear this powerful apologetic for the Christian faith.
The Case for Christ – Lee Strobel
Would there be enough empirical evidence to support the existence and claims of Christ (if the materials were handled and judged in a modern day court room with jury and judge) ? Strobel uses his legal training and acumen to investigate the evidence, take us through the legal trial process and arrives at his own conclusion altering his own life in the process.
Evidence that Demands a Verdict – Josh McDowell
Among important books in the defense of Christianity, this one has few equals. Evidence That Demands a Verdict is an easy-to-read, front-line defense for Christians facing the tough questions of critics and skeptics. Using secular evidences and other historical sources, Josh McDowell’s faith-building book is a “must read” for every Christian.
Bones of Contention – M. Lubenow
This is the most complete and accurate critique of the fossils of the so-called ‘ape men.’ The myth of human evolution is completely demolished. The last chapter, repudiating the compromising views of many modern evangelicals on this subject, is illuminating. Lubenow has made an invaluable contribution to scientific biblical creationism.
